Here we go, guys! A whole new season! Get ready for new villains, new Rangers, more multi-parters, and a few sloppily-done goodbyes that I am in no way ready for.
But that’s all to come. Where do we actually begin our second season of Power Rangers?
The penultimate episode of the first season. I can’t believe it.
We begin with Tommy sprinting to his locker to pick up his notebook. Kimberly says hello to him, but he says he has to run because he’s“late for Ms. Appleby’s class,” which makes no sense because if he’s late, Kim should be, too.
It seems Netflix has finally stopped auto-skipping the theme song. Blessed be.
Ernie is posting the results of the recent Angel Grove Junior Soccer Team tryouts. Because naturally such a task would fall to the patron of a local business, rather than the person running the team.
We open with Kimberly running through her beam routine, which evidently consists of a single back-handspring and a full turn. Why does she never have spotters? Or a coach? Or any other apparatus?
She hops down to excitedly tell Tommy and Trini that she’s going to be a contestant on the game show“Trick or Treat,” which Tommy helpfully informs the audience is the“most popular game show in America.”
We begin this time with Angela, who is ushering children in line for Zack’s juggling act. He talks about how great the activity is for hand-eye coordination and impressing the ladies, dropping Angela a wink at the end.
