Mighty Morphin #2.11 – The Song of Guitardo

We start with Kimberly playing the guitar at the Juice Bar. Now, I knew Amy Jo Johnson was able to play, but it’s a nice note for Kimberly to continue evolving her past the mall girl stereotype she started as.

Zack drops in to tell her how good she sounds, and she asks for his help with lyrics. He’s eager to help, and she begins to play what she has so far.

Mighty Morphin #2.10 – Welcome to Venus Island

Kimberly, Trini, and Tommy are at the beach with a young girl, who is telling them about her dream of a prince saving her as she builds a sand castle. Tommy jokes that the story sounds pretty sappy, but Kimberly elbows him and argues that it’s romantic.

The girl runs off to grab some rocks for her castle and we get an almost creepy moment where Richie walks behind them without them noticing. Finally Trini looks up and gives him a blushing wave.

Mighty Morphin #2.09 – The Beetle Invasion

We open with Ernie recruiting Jason, Zack, Billy, and Tommy for his broomball team (holy cow, I don’t think I’ve thought about broomball since elementary school P.E.), as the youth center in Stone Canyon (pay attention to that city name — it’ll be important later this season) has challenged him to a match.

Well, this title is bad for Tommy, right off the bat.

We begin with Ms. Appleby reminding her class that their 500-word essays are due Friday, and all I can think is how crazy short that is. She snaps “This Friday” at Bulk and Skull, because she knows her students.

Mighty Morphin #2.06 – Bloom of Doom

The Juice Bar is hosting Angel Grove High’s activity fair, because why not?

Zack is representing the Hip Hop Aikido Club, which…I guess is a thing? Trini is randomly leading the Volleyball Club, and she excitedly tells her new members that their first practice will begin in fifteen minutes.

Mighty Morphin #2.05 – Putty on the Brain

Zack strides up to Billy’s locker wearing a pair of ridiculous sunglasses, which he says should work perfectly for science class. Billy agrees that they’ll do a good job of protecting their eyes, while Zack adds that they look cool, too.
