We open at the rehearsal of a fashion show, where a disco remix of the Zeo theme song is playing as Rocky walks the runway. Tanya and Kat wave to him from where they’re helping dress models, distracting him enough for him to run smack into another model.

We begin with the opening of Ernie’s new Beach Club, which Kat is sure will be the hottest summer hang-out in town. But a group of mysterious motorcyclists arrive to wreck the place.
They insist that this spot is “their turf,” and warn everyone to clear out in the next 24 hours or they’ll do far more damage than they already have.

Still the shortened theme song, but we’ve got an UPDATE:

Hey all – I’m hijacking this post briefly to address the news that broke this past week.
If you’re a regular reader of this blog, I’m sure you’ve heard about the tragic passing of Jason David Frank. I still haven’t found words that encompass everything I’m feeling, and I can only offer my deepest condolences to his friends and family.
Other than this introduction, you likely won’t see his death addressed much in my blog for two reasons:
- I’m very much ahead in terms of writing these recaps. As of this writing, I’ve finished Zeo and am in the early episodes of Turbo. So the entire rest of the season was written before his death.
- I want this to be a place of celebration, not of mourning. I feel it’s important to mention his death, just as I did Thuy Trang’s, but I don’t want to dwell on it. As far as this blog is concerned, what Jason David Frank, Thuy Trang, and any other Power Rangers alum who’ve passed gave to us in their lives is far more important than how those lives ended.
If you’re a fan of JDF who also happens to enjoy this blog, I hope this week’s recap (and those to come!) can at least give you a chuckle or two as you work through the news.
So without further ado, let’s get to our regularly-scheduled recap!

We open with the Rangers about to fall in battle, only for the Gold Ranger to swoop in at the last moment and save them Tuxedo Mask-style. As usual, he disappears as soon as the battle is complete.
Kat reveals that the Cogs have been attacking nonstop for two weeks, and Tanya says she’s so exhausted she’s ready to pass out. This, of course, turns out to be the Machine Empire’s plan — to tire them out so badly they’re unable to fight.

What kind of a title…?
We open at a surfing competition in Angel Grove. Rocky is watching over the competition as a lifeguard, which is actually a pretty good continuity nod.

Am I EVER going to get the full theme song back???
Speaking of the theme song, there are some updates: Bulk, Skull, and Lt. Stone are no longer in police uniforms and we’ve added a few shots of the Gold Ranger.

Stupid, dumb, shortened version.
We open with the Rangers already morphed and on a stealth mission, which is a twist on the usual formula. They’ve split into two teams tracking two different distress signals, with Tommy and Adam on one team and Tanya, Rocky, and Kat on the other.
