Mighty Morphin #1.54 – Trick or Treat

We open with Kimberly running through her beam routine, which evidently consists of a single back-handspring and a full turn. Why does she never have spotters? Or a coach? Or any other apparatus? She hops down to excitedly tell Tommy and Trini that she’s going to be a contestant on the game show “Trick orContinue reading “Mighty Morphin #1.54 – Trick or Treat”

Mighty Morphin #1.53 – Fowl Play

We’ve basically used this title before. Of course, it was pun-less, but the point still stands. We begin this time with Angela, who is ushering children in line for Zack’s juggling act. He talks about how great the activity is for hand-eye coordination and impressing the ladies, dropping Angela a wink at the end.

Mighty Morphin #1.52 – Two Heads Are Better Than One

The episode opens with Jason and Tommy teaching a women’s self-defense class at the Juice Bar, which seems questionable given the show already has two badass female fighters capable of doing just that, but if it means we get more than two seconds of Tommy time, I guess I’m down. The lesson seems to consistContinue reading “Mighty Morphin #1.52 – Two Heads Are Better Than One”

Mighty Morphin #1.50 – Return of an Old Friend: Part 2

In case I haven’t made it clear yet: I am loving this two-parter so far. In addition to my obvious excitement about Tommy coming back, I have to credit the writers with just how they did it — holding off his reveal until the end of the episode, and taking the time to actually setContinue reading “Mighty Morphin #1.50 – Return of an Old Friend: Part 2”

Mighty Morphin #1.48 – Plague of the Mantis

I’m honestly so excited for the next episode that I’m having trouble focusing on this one. But I’m determined to give you a good recap, so here we go! Luckily for me, we have a Trini-centric episode to keep me grounded. We begin with her practicing what I assume is tai chi, but as we’veContinue reading “Mighty Morphin #1.48 – Plague of the Mantis”

Mighty Morphin #1.47 – Reign of the Jellyfish

We begin in Ms. Appleby’s classroom, which is nice, because I was honestly starting to worry about her given the number of times we’ve seen Principal Caplan substituting for her recently. The class is putting together a time capsule, and Ms. Appleby calls each member of the cast forward in turn to see what theyContinue reading “Mighty Morphin #1.47 – Reign of the Jellyfish”

Mighty Morphin #1.46 – To Flea or Not to Flee

The teens are running a drive to save the Juice Bar, which is apparently about to go out of business. This seems implausible given it’s literally the only place kids ever hang out in Angel Grove, but nobody ever seems to pay for anything, so maybe all those unpaid tabs put Ernie in the red.Continue reading “Mighty Morphin #1.46 – To Flea or Not to Flee”
